Looking at getting one of these. Any ones to stay away from? Quite keen on a hornady one.

You like good stuff, ditch the Hornady and get a Lyman.
Lyman all the way. Takes up bugger all room on your bench as well
Had a fault with my one that I caused over time not cleaning the powder off properly. Sent back to Lyman and got brilliant service and free return.
Throws all powders I have run thru it accurately.

Sweet, a lyman it is.
I have got one that I can't open until my birthday, a gen 6. I got so sick of my Lee el cheapo.
Nothing wrong with my hornady and it gets thrashed!
My lyman goes alright tho I have to have the "choke" in for all powders I run or it will overweight consistently, choke in all good.
I have gen 5. Here's a trick . To speed up the process just as it starts to pour if you re doing a biggish load have som powder in a nice container and as it starts add a scoop of powder. Mine picks up the weight added manually instantly doesn't pause if you are gentle and it halves the time to get the 70 + load dished. I can nearly keep up with the midget on the press . Tested it heaps on different scales still throws perfectly every load. When you re loading 100 plus minimum it really speeds stuff up !!
RCBS Chargemaster is also a good option.
It seems lyman and charge master review well generally.
I like this. I'm seriously considering a Lyman. I have good luck with stick powders but having to throw and weigh most charges when I want accuracy in quantity, sucks balls.
I have thrown shotgun, pistol and rifle powders. It is either bang on or if ever off, only ever by .01

If you interested, contact Jason at Ozark Outdoors, his "shop" is all via Trademe, however here is his email.

Good luck, I got my gen6 just last week and he does have a gen5 in stock right now...
+1 for Ozark. Jason is a good bugger
My better half, and she got it for optics planet, good price compared to what you pay here.
Rcbs, works great! Got mine from US from natchez only about $350DNZ landed.
Kj
Grabbed a lyman one, nice bit of kit too!!!!
Just imported a chargemaster from Rcbs
Can't fault it
Cost me around $330 landed
Really pleased with the results
I'm not sure why these are so expensive here in NZ
As per projectiles, powder etc we get stung here big time
Only get stung for powder and primers, all my projectiles come direct like your CM.
CM is a great device however my scales unit went belly up recently after several years of trouble free service.
RCBS offer no repair facility (it's a throw away item at any rate) as they bring the CM in from China (what a surprise).
They also have a very ungenerous 1 year warranty.
I tossed up replacing with a Lyman Gen 6 but ended up getting just a new scales unit as the dispenser itself was still faultless.
Yep with some other stuff included for postage
Where abouts do you get your projectiles from? I've had trouble finding anyone who will export because they are componants
Natchez is the site I use for everything else
Cheers
Can you post a link to where you purchased the chargemaster
Just go to Natchezss.com
Current listing price is $289
Yeah which equates to about $440nz plus freight plus gst/duty, so closer to $600. Not quite as good as $330nz to your door
Gunsmithing &Reloading Tools - RCBS Chargemaster Combo, Scales
however they are $740NZ here, so even if you pay GST its $560NZ, a $180NZ saving is still a nice wedge, damn the exchange rate sucks.
The lyman gen 6 would be $220US so no GST and $50 landing charge so $120NZ cheaper.
You might get lucky as my caldwell chrono came with a 60v~240v world adapter so a $10.50 USA to NZ converter/adapter on TM solved that one.
:D
Otherwise if you have to buy one in NZ about $25NZ off DSE.
I will celebrate the day all "stuff" is all powered via micro USB.
+1 for Ozark.
I think your CM calc may have omitted shipping and the Bio fee so maybe a saving of only 70 bucks.
Unless it came in gst and bio free but those happy events are now few and far between.
Fortunately got mine back in the .85 xchange rate although I still go burned with the current rate when I had to replace the 1500 scale unit recently.
Add in a local power supply.
I picked mine up from Workshop Innovation.
I would also strongly, strongly suggest looking at a line conditioner for your power. Especially if you have anything else on the same circuit, or fluro tubes in the garage/reloading space.
Mine is setup and works phenomenally - I check a couple of charges on the GemPro next to it - but they generally are both bang on. Just want another one now so I can load back and forth between them.
james at cr pain is lyman distributer he has an office in jafferland and he wiill most likly be at the seeker show
A guy at Harvey Norman was giving a punter the hard-sell on a power supply filter. Can't recall the price but it's the sort of thing that'd do the job for this
um the power is supplied via a plugin adapter? I'd not think a protection worth it or achieve anything, but I could be wrong?
I know when I got a laptop some years ago on interest free the finance company insisted DSE give me one for free, so I just have to wonder.
cost $15 to $30

I have this one,

and I do have a bigger one on the TV.
Don't think its for surge protection
Line conditioners are something like this.....
Buy the Tripplite LR1000 1000 Watt Line Conditioner (LR1000) online at PBTech.co.nz
For something that is powered by a plug pack and internal electronic voltage regulation the line conditioner will do nothing. Typically the plug pack puts out 1.5x to 2x the voltage the device needs. We are talking equipment that is not realistically going to draw 15W. Spend your money more wisely.
