Scalping is a fact of life, the Ex NZ Speaker of the House of Representatives, the Right Honorable Trevor Mallard admitted to flogging off 'event' tickets at highly inflated prices.

People can choose to 'play' .............. or to not play.

And if you are in 'Desperation Street' regarding stuff like this - then you have only yourself to blame. New Zealand is a pimple on the arse of the worlds pig - we have always suffered shortages. It's why we had the 'No 8 wire' reputation - we made do, we became innovative .............. but that was a while ago.

The answer would certainly influence my purchasing decisions of the future!
Well, I bought a box of 1,000 RWS SR primers at a very reasonable price a year ago, from the fella in Rotorua. Gun Supplies.

He had plenty. But they were selling fast.

Making a few dollars by trading components that are scarce doesn't really get me excited, I'd much rather share any surplus i don't need, at the price I paid (or cost to replace) and feel good that a fellow hunter/shooter is able to keep doing what they love.

    we can't mate. NO PRIMERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So true and I did the same. Spent an absolute fortune gathering brass, primers, powder and projectiles cause the writing was on the wall and now I’m sitting pretty. I put my name on back orders over 18 months ago and have just been getting the suppliers to pass them on to the next on the list as I don’t need them. Hopefully those guys who are next on the list are using them and not trying to sell them in at ridiculous prices

Just saying. If many pay $65 for a 100 primers. What becomes the new normal price? And what do retailers want to now charge?

I guess I want this thread to head you all to not buy in. Just wait if you can.

I’m not a rich guy and to enjoy my sport I want to be as fair and reasonably as possible.

This last couple of years I've stepped away from target to focus on hunting. I knew I was ripping through the primers so this was a way to combat the lack of supply we've endured here in NZ. To me, shooting is shooting. But as it turns out, 45-70 is a lot more entertaining than 6.5 and I'm also not exploited from the lack of projectile supply. At best I can make it through 20 and my shoulder knows it's been shooting.

My 2c, if you get a chance to buy ANY bulk quantity of anything you should do it. All the bullshit price hikes for licensing are inevitable and inbound. So no, prices are not coming down. Just my take on it.

But I do agree that younger or newer shooters who are using trademe to buy supplies need to expand their sourcing skills. Your F.O.M.O is costing you so (like the wise fellas on here say) use back ordering or even better, join a club and bulk order.

But another thing. The firearms industry hurting so any time you can make a purchase from a real store and not trademe you'd be helping make sure the lifeblood of our sport is supported.
    - I'm not shaming people for using trademe (I've bought the odd box when no shops had supply) but by buying ahead you win and so does the industry.

I’m on holiday and can’t believe I just read six pages of shit. Here it is right here. Something only sells for what somebody is prepared to pay. Simple. Commerce 101. Don’t like it fuck up and fuck off somewhere else. Rant over.

Fuck off, not correct I just bought 200 projectiles off here for less than my locals retail and someone would have being willing to pay much more but the seller sold them to cover his costs . If your all about commerce take your 101 and don’t read 6 pages when in the synopsis it clearly highlights the monstrosity of commerce fucking knob
