    Fiochi large rifle primers

    Anybody used these much?
Was told that their ignition is a bit cold and may need more powder to get same velocities? I will find out soon enough but I have just loaded 150 for a shoot and would like to hear any experiences.

    First hand experiences?

Happy to swap with shifty CCI

Good by all accounts I’m yet to dig into mine but a few friends are yielding very reliable results

Used them for many years in my Swiss K31s. Cannot say if they are "subdued" or not. Happy with their performance in one of my K31s which shoots under 1 MOA which is quite incredible for a mil. Fiocchi were cheap in their time so still have a quantity left to feed my K31.
Wouldn't use them in my F Class rifles but cannot really quantify why. Use CCI BR-2 or BR-4.

As an aside I am currently measuring some LRPs for depth and width and tabulating. This after a recent thread saying the new White River primers may be too thick for depth of some primer pockets.
So far have measured up Fed 210M, RWS 5341, Fiocchi NIK and CCI BR-2. Just have the White River and Ginex left to do. I'll stick something up when I'm done.

I use them on my Milsurps as the primer cup appears to be harder than federal.

Im guessing cci is in between from my memory but i have used all my cci.

Had one federal burst in the mas36. Firing pin leaves very deep indents. Fired about 300 rounds since swapping and no more ruptures.

Have used them aswell in the 308 tikka for a hunting load in mixed brass and thrown powder. All went bang and did the job. didn't do a load with fed to compare any velocity or pressure differences. So cant comment on this cold burning

I just tested them in my 7prc vs 215 mag primers they gave about 30fps slower but better SD and grouping was bloody good.
I've used a 100 or so now in other rifles and have had no issues.

They used to be quite available here in the past. I stocked up back then. Setting up a new plant in the USA. Maybe the primer situation will ease in a year or so.

In a primer comparison I read, they produced top tier accuracy, better than any American primer

Mate rated them as good as the Federal GMM series for accuracy, but very slightly slower. I haven't used them myself still having enough of the Federal on hand (considering I'm still repairing my right hand side cough cough).

Marlin 30-30 Lever does not like them. Get fail to fire with factory standard spring etc. Enfield 303Bs, Interarms Mk Xs etc love them. Never had a prob in 6yrs or so with bolt actions.

I use the the Fiocchi large rifle magnum primers in a 6.5 Creedmoor and use the same load data as is recommended with a standard rifle primer with no issue so I feel that these primers are not very hot at all.

Well, I hope Fiocci LR primers are better than the small rifle primers used recently, from no ignition to blanked primers a number of people found Fiocci SR primers very lacking compared to Federal or CCi

Have used them for years as well, have shot many many thousand with no issues.
My only problem is I don’t have enough of each.
