    Doesnt matter.
Just choose something with the weight and bc that works for what you wanna do

If shooting under 300m, jusg buy the cheaperst junk bullets in a useful weight, it wont matter if your rifle is setup well and your load is moderately good.

    Dont overthink it

Your corelokt, Interlocks and Hot Cars are going to all perform similar. The Boattail will be more frangible. But I have been impressed with them since I started using them in my current rifle. Here's a few animals that have fallen too them, particularly the big boars have all been shot through heavy bone and shield, and they worked very well.

    Greetings,
In an older rifle where the barrel may be a little worn I would prefer to start with a flat base projectile as they almost always shoot well. It does not really matter that much who makes them. Take care in loading with AR2209 as there is still some data about for the older and slower version. It is best to work up with a chronograph to be safe.

Sierra pro hunters shot very well for me in a 708 kimber, deer fell over when hit right.

Old mate of my dad’s shot a lot of deer with a 270. Back in the early 80’s remember old Bob telling me that he found Hornady were to hard so he always used Sierras.

Outdoor supplies have 130 gn 270 @ $64 a pack advertised- can’t tell if they are in stock thou. Have ordered projectiles of them in the past only to get my money refunded cause they didn’t have any.

Yeah sweet a lot of good information here, I have had awesome results with 180gr interlocks with my .30-06 in the bush.
The projectiles seldom exit, good to let the animal absorb all that positive energy.
I am aware that 180gr will be going a lot slower than a 130gr. Would they still perform just the same with the same amount of expansion etc? 180gr interlocks out of my .30-06 seemed to be a a perfect balance.
I’m currently using 150gr sst out my .30-06 these are great too, they always leave an exit hole tho. Not a bad thing tho as makes it easier if you have to follow a blood trail for a bit.
I had a bad experience with some Winchester ammo quite a few years back. It was the stuff that was for “light skinned game”
Shot a Billy at 10m with the .30-06 and it was as it the projectile exploded when it touched the hair. Blew a fist size hole in the shoulder, didn’t penetrate at all. Not sure if anyone else has experienced that.
I know hotcors won’t be that explody but In saying that I think I’ll stick with what I know for piece of mind anyway and I’ll go for the interlocks.
Sorry guys I’m just spitballing a bit here rattling off a few of my thoughts.
I know as long as you hit them in the right spot it doesn’t matter too much what you use, but always good to have confidence
