    found another 44/40 mold

    hi have found another 44/40 mold it has no crimp groove and its a gas check mold

    My opinion
    The one you posted a few days ago is the better bullet for bp
    Ether bullet would work well for smokeless and or as akaroa says powder coat

    At the end of the day its a 44/40 its not a long range precision rifle so as long as the chosen bullet functions well in your rifle or pistol im sure any bullet will be fit for perpose

    If your shooting bp lube is the biggest factor. ..
    You need to keep that fouling soft to keep your accuracy after more than 4 or 5 shots without cleaning

    im just shooting it with 4.2 gn as50 not a cat sneeze but not scorching either in both pistol and a rossi lever gun cheers mate

    Both would work equally as well
    I bet you could fill your mag half and half and not notice
    Id powder coat rater than a wax based lube for smokeless
