    How fast am I going?

Could anyone please run a load for me or suggest a free calculator. I'm not really interested in paying much for how much load development I do.
    Load is
    7mm08
    Coal 2.750
    Speer 130gr spbt
    Ar2209 48.5gr.
    Much appreciated
    Oh 18" barrel

You want approximate velocity?? And can't work it out from manual...taking off say 30 fps per inch less barrel length??? Pointblank online will give you theoretical trajectory once you have ballpark velocity. Give me a Hollar if can't suss it out.

Taking a wild arsed guess I’d say 2890 to 2930fps

Can take a wild guess from manual but only has max and min loads for 24" tube.
Would also be interested in pressure but doesn't seem to be an issue even though is compressed load.

    2785 with https://www.p-max.uk/
    QL has you at 2632.
    The difference being case capacity.

Also, are you loading 50thou short?

Cheers for that. I was loading at 2.800 but with these short boat tails there isn't much bullet in the neck

So looking at Hahn's numbers...2700fps average...130 GRN Speer should kill very nicely at that speed, they normally on the softer side so expand very easily.

Thank makes sense. I only ever loaded 150s in 7mm08.

Also for case capacity, Pmax used 50.2 gr and had pressure just under max at 61k psi. QL used 55 gr and, I think from memory last night, 48kish psi. Might pay to measure if a case if you have a spare as that's a reasonable difference.

    Very roughly 2,775 fps
Book velocity less 50 fps per grain and 25 fps per inch of barrel.

    grt has you at 2743.8fps

But to cut a long story short, any calculated speed from any program is an educated guess

without putting it over a crony, you will never know

by the way grt says you have 0.348 of bullet in the case which when you factor in the lenth of the boat tail i think knocking it back from 2.750" was a good choice

I was using GRT again today. GRT always gives about 100fps slower than what ADI says I should be getting
That includes an allowance of about 60fps for the 22" barrel.

    So, who do i believe?
