    I've never started at the bottom, got to admit that.
    usually start just under 1/2 and load 4 at each 0.5 grain to the top, at Oal, so long as that is mag length or less, use 4 as 5 is a waste and 4 allows at least one pulled.
    Shoot until feeling uncomfortable or get great groups, looking at ejected brass , every case .Many times I haven't shot max load because of one of these two things.
    Most times good things happen before load max, exception is usually 6.5x55 in laupa brass.

    Go back recheck best groups, play a bit with depth if needed, usually job done.

    Edit to say
    One thing I forgot to add is I have never used old brass for LD, I always use new brass that I intend to carry on with.

    Yep that^....I only tried it as I didnt have a faster powder, it did work but as I said I dont recommend it.
