Its easier than you think casting your own slugs.
A Snider was what started me off down the Black Powder Rabbit Hole. For years I just used a Primus and a heavy pot I bought at a charity shop.My first Bullets were made from melted down lead Farm Animals (remember those?).
Like alot of things Bullet casting is as simple or as complex as you wish to make it.Now I must have 20 Molds of all different calibers.
If you can get hold of some .600 Round balls, then give them a try. They swage into the bore and gave me the best accuracy out to 100 meters.I had the incredible good fortune of finding a brand new still in the grease Snider Barrel a few years ago.It must have had the chamber cut on new tooling as I didn't need to resize the brass after firing! Compare that to some of the Snider chambers I have seen that were practically oval and blew the shoulder out of the case upon firing.
