    Maker Mucking About

62 grn Maker TRex. Look the deal. Tested them in my .223 today. 100 yards.

    25 grns BM2 and 27 grns CFE223. 25 thou off lands.

First 4 (right hand dot) CFE223. I dont have much luck with that powder

Second 4 (left hand red dot) BM2 show some promise. Double grouped - probably 'cos I fiddled with the bipod and changed position? Top 2 first, then a fiddle, then bottom group.

I will try the BM2 again but Im fairly confident they will be ok if I do my bit.

    It will do the job.
But my Marlin does a lot better than that with Superoos.

Im not surprised. Ive got a bit of fiddling to do with them. They will get there.
Im pretty sure the vertical stringing was to do with technique.

I wanted to start by getting a pressure and accuracy base with them. There isn't any load data. Pressure was fine so the BM2 load is a good place to progress from. Im satisfied the velocity will be adequate. I will try a bigger group - 10 sounds a lot

Thats my thinking. I like to use solid copper when Im shooting for a charity (avoiding lead). I doubt they will be as good as Hammers cos they aren't designed to shed their petals - the Hammer's flying petals create a lot of churn- but so long as they are "good enough" I will be happy.

    Thats good to hear.
I was just going by this from their web site:

The T-REX Bullets are Precision Machined from lead free solid copper. These Projectiles expand nearly 3 times the original diameter while maintaining nearly 100% of its original weight. These Projectiles have a polymer tip
that will increase the BC of the bullet.

It didn't take a lot of experimentation to get the 85gn 6mm TRex shooting ok. 3180fps from the 243.
