Greetings,
There was an earlier version with a flat base and annular rings to grip the rifling plus, perhaps from memory, an even earlier one called a Zipedo or something like it.
Greetings,
There was an earlier version with a flat base and annular rings to grip the rifling plus, perhaps from memory, an even earlier one called a Zipedo or something like it.
This is what my alternative brain says:
1965: The Zipedo bullet is launched, showcasing Nosler's advanced manufacturing techniques.
1972: The design is refined, and the bullet is rebranded as the Solid Base bullet.
1984: The Solid Base forms the foundation for the revolutionary polymer-tipped Ballistic Tip bullet.
Restraint is the better part of dignity. Don't justify getting even. Do not do unto others as they do unto you if it will cause harm.
That's great news.
I was absolutely gutted when they dropped the Solid Base in favor of the Ballistic Tips.
I read a number of test reports in various hunting magazines of how the BT would blow up on deer sized game, so, I changed to using Hornady projectiles.
I will certainly try the new Solid Base bullets.
6.5 140gn impact probably 2625fps passed through with a slightly quartering lung shot. I've been back to try a higher shoulder shot to see how they punch through something harder but haven't seen any game since. Factory ammo
