Thread: Powder choice for 20” 7mm Rem Mag

RL25 produces good velocities and accuracy in a 24 inch tube. Not sure about a 20”, other may offer input.

Nah federal was the one, big chamber on that rifle. Always backed off when I got a harder bolt lift. I like speed but I like living too

I've found rl22 and rl25 to be good in my previous 7rm. Just keep working up slowly
I was getting 100fps faster from rl22 in my 7saum vs rl26

I think 2217 will be on my shopping list but happy enough for now, thanks to the above advice very slowly worked up to 68.3gr (RL22) and finally started to see some pressure signs, dialled back to 67.9gr getting 2852fps with an ES of 20 over 9 shots, shooting 5/8 MOA. Bunch of legends on this forum a great resource for the NZ hunter/shooter, thanks again guys
