Round 2 brass in the US steals my money

    Hi All
I have been dealing with Round 2 brass from the US.
I contacted Matt in several emails asking if he was able to ship used brass to me in New Zealand.
He stated that he was able to and how much would I like.
Several emails later and 8 boxes were on order. Master card payment went through and Matt dispatched the goods.
I get 3 boxes and then nothing. 4 weeks later and more emails Matt tells me that Customs has held it at the port of exit and they were sending him some paper work. I paid international shipping for the goods and it went 2 states in the US.
More emails and Matt informs me that US Customs have now seized the boxes as HE DOES NOT HAVE A PERMIT TO SEND IT OUT OF THE US. New Zealand does not require a permit to get the brass in to the country.
2 weeks later and more emails Matt informs me that he has sent the goods and that is the end of it. I ask him to get SOME money back for the shipping at least and part of the cost of the brass. Matt informs me that this will not be happening as it is not his problem because he sent the goods.
I am now $800 New Zealand down and no brass to show for the money.
Matt tells me that he is now not shipping international as he does not have the permits and that it is not worth the cost.
PLEASE DO NOT USE ROUND 2 BRASS he will steal your money and not give a toss about you been out of pocket.

I've got some 28 gauge shotgun brass coming from Buffalo Arms in the states. They clearly state that rifle and pistol brass cannot be sent direct to me from there, shotgun is exempt. Rifle and pistol have to go thru a dealer in NZ ?

The owner of gun city tried bringing some gear out of the states without the right paperwork & they threw him in the slammer, they don't take kindly to not having the proper export paper work, at least you got 3 boxes.
Shut up, get out & start pushing!

Thanks for the Bank advise Mikee may try that to.
Pistol and rifle brass does not need dealer licence as i have done this heaps of times. The fucker in the US was wrong when I asked if he could send it and 3 slipped through. And now It is my fault. Be warned US dont let it thru

Hi, I asked about a modded Savage M12 and the US gunsmith said it wasnt worth it / possible as he'd have to do a huge amount of export paperwork for one gun. Knowing US cusotms who frankly are as anal as african customs are bribable I can quite believe its been stopped.

    regards

A friend of mine just shipped me a bunch of brass from the states. It was clearly marked on the outside of the box what it was and none of that got held up.

Hopefully he didn't break the law... but USPS had no issues with sending it out. They even recommended splitting it up into multiple smaller boxes for cheaper shipping etc.

This Will be a point of contention . I know the Internet is awesome . You can find stuff to buy and information easy as . Would anyone not stop to think can I keep an NZ er employed by buying off a shop here that has infrastructure, rent to pay employs a few of us pays taxes etc This buying offshore Directly because I may save what a few bucks helps NZ how ? I know our guys will charge more but how's what yr doing helping the country I get the guys who have invested here to bring the stuff in I know the prices cos I m good at research to but still give the locals a chance they absorb these risks . The penalty is you pay a bit more the reward is you build a relationship locally and get knowledge and don't suffer these problems. As I said point of contention let's all shop offshore then see what stays available here PS no personal attack intended just puttin it out there !!!

    Happy

It's a two way street and competition should always be encouraged.

I'd be Happy to support NZ business and I do in many many cases, However theres a growing number of local business people who think it's their right to provide appaling service and at the same time rip off their Customers, fellow New Zealanders.
These people I do not and will not ever support.

For example I recently imported a Multi Media Bluetooth Motorcycle Helmet from a US retailer. The cost including $100 shipping to my door was a tad over $600nzd. This helmet arrived 7 days after payment was made. Email communications were very good and they followed up a week after I recieved the goods to see if I was satisfied with them.

Before I ordered this equipment over the internet I had approached the local Suzuki Stealership with the full expectation I could purchase said goods locally through them as this equipment is avalible here in NZ already. After much prompting and me chasing them up for over two weeks they finally quoted me $1400nzd and a 6 to 8 week wait time.
The two things that made these retailers stand out from each other and played a big part in my decision of where I will spend my money was.
The US Retailer gave me very good service even though I never met them face to face and quoted a reasonable price and delivery time.
The local Suzuki Stealership gave me very poor service face to face and quoted an outrageous price and delivery time.
To me this was the "Big F*ck Off and Stop Waisting Our Time" quote.

So the US retailer not only won on price but also won hands down on Service even though he was half way around the globe and we'd never met. No brainer really.

Why am I buying more and more online?
    I get good service.
    The prices are good.
And I can save my self the greif of being dicked around by the local guys who just dont give a shit about their Customers!
And for me It's not just about saving a few bucks.

That said there are a few local guys who I always support and buy from for the same reason.
They always give me good service and good prices.
If all local guys had business models like this I would never buy online.
Sadly thats no longer the case here in NZ.

    Cheers
    Pete
