Thread: Rounds jamming into lands

now try the body of case...... there is one clear patch of diagonal rubbing there,but it goes too far forward to be rifling alone.

How many times have you neck sized the same piece of brass.

I used to neck size as that was what came with the rifle, now I neck size Nothing. Full length everything.

If you colour one of the cases incl projectile with a sharpie and carefully try chambering it then carefully remove it you should be able to see where its sticking as it were

Oh I see you have tried. Is that tip deforemed?? Are you dropping straight into chamber or feeding thru a mag to chamber?

Rifles has fires around 200 rounds first time I've had this issue.
Would the burr explain the issues around the jamming and stiff closing opening but only on these few rounds

I should note that these are first loads shot of the 3rd loading

Is it a new batch of projectiles? If so, could it be a different ogive?

Second time I've loaded from same box of eldx

Also the dirty bastard took a nose dive into the concrete as I was cycling it hence the deformed tip

2nd photo looks to have 4 places its touching. on shoulder.... let the vivid dry...so it dont rub off so easy and try again.

Dumb question but did you try chambering them after neck sizing but before primer,powder and pill added??

No but I have brass that is same batch unloaded sitting there
