Straight wall nitro cases. Who uses filler and what ?

In your straight wall modest capacity cases who is using filler and what with nitro loads ?

I'm talking about cases like 45-70 and 45-90 that have more than enough capacity when using nitro / smokeless powder.
38-55 and such like don't count because it's a pretty small case anyway.

I use dacron and wool as a filler in my big capacity cases with nitro for black loads.
But those cases are massive and the nitro load is only around 50% of case capacity.

I have come across varying opinions lately about the use of toilet paper to hold nitro powder back around the powder for better ignition and cleaner burn in this application.
Also varying opinions on crimping bullets to get better ignition and burn also.
Crimping not an issue for me as exclusively using single shot rifles

    Thoughts ? Experiences ?

Real world application is about 5 days off being ready to test fire

In my 500BPE and my 450/400 I don’t use a filler, when loading nitro equivalent for BP. However they do take a shit load of powder.
577/450, using BP and being a necked case, I’ve used toilet paper and ground corn. Toilet paper comes out smoking

When I used to load 45-70 with smokeless I had very low case fill and never used fillers. I did crimp and use magnum primers to try to ensure complete burn though.
Velocity variation was terrible with some powders as they were very position sensitive.
Only load with BP now, smokeless is a passing fad...

I now use no filler in my 38/55 with nitro and it's just on half full with 4227. Tried loose wool and felt wads but it made no difference. In the 45/70 I use carded wool loosely packed to the case mouth and "compressed" by the bullet. I used to run it without filler but got a lot of unburnt powder, the loose packing solved that.
