Fairly old news now. There's a thread already.

A few of us, myself included have had their parcels returned to their point of origin. A blessing.

I'm just waiting for what my seller is going to offer. Worst case will be to try and charge me a restocking fee. Whether they will try to recover some of my shipping cost off USPS is another. And whether they will seek out alternative shipping via FedEx UPS etc at much increased rates is another.

And I firmly believe it's not all down to Covid. USPS service has been crap for some time, predating Covid.

Best of luck and hope your reamer goes back to the supplier abd doesn't just disappear into the ether.

I have been lucky so far with deliveries my last Gas Check order was sitting in Florida for a month
I have more trouble with NZ Post than USPS,
I got confirmation that the reamer is being shipped USPS International the least expensive option
    on offer.

    Really? Bearing in mind that;

"**New Zealand’s service disruption affects Priority Mail International® (PMI), First-Class Package International Service® (FCPIS®), Commercial ePacket (CeP), International Priority Airmail® (IPA®) packets, International Priority Airmail® (IPA®) M-Bags, International Surface Air Lift® (ISAL®) packets, International Surface Air Lift® (ISAL®) M-Bags, and Airmail M-Bags."

I don't see any other "USPS International" https://tinyurl.com/yjrzm2tt being on offer.

On another aspect, I did find this which is "slightly" reassuring on their site.

    Returns & Refunds

For any returned item bearing a customs form, the Postal Service will, upon request, refund postage and fees on mail returned due to the suspension of service. For all other returned items not bearing a customs declarations form, the Postal Service will, upon request, refund postage and fees on an item returned due to the suspension of service, or you may resend the item with the existing postage once service has been restored. If you choose to resend the item later, you must cross out the markings "Mail Service Suspended — Return to Sender."

    Nice one @Kiwi Sapper.
Some reassurance I guess but any claim submitted will receive the same expiditious service that we have experienced from USPS for a while.

I have to still hear from my seller so I think my parcel may still be sitting in their town's Post Office awaiting collection.

I don't hold out much hope of my seller pushing thru a claim on my behalf. When a I had a parcel from them go AWOL last year they were less than helpful. Unfortunately they are the only outfit selling the item I wanted.

I ordered three things from the US and they were each sent via USPS about 1-2 weeks before the announcement. All three have made it into the country.

The first (also a reamer) was sat in San Francisco for 3 weeks but has now been scanned in Auckland.
The second made it to Tokyo after 2 weeks in Chicago and sat there there for another 1 week before also appearing in Auckland.
The last to be sent came via Los Angeles, was only there for 1 week and arrived at my door on Tuesday.

My parcel went into their system ie was accepted by them, before the suspension. Unfortunately it got the kiss of death by going to that great clutter called Chicago International.
I had hoped it had progressed thru but alas...... (or words to that effect).

This week I’ve had two separate items bought from Amazon USA arrive on my doorstep. The shipping time was less than 7 days for each delivery. There are still supply lines open and moving,.
