Thanks for the reply 7x64 I'm reluctantly inclined to agree with you but I think I'm going to have to take the steep and buy the expensive brass bloody rabbit hole, no one here sells Norma factory ammo here in that caliber. I'm starting to look at the US as the wife may need to go there in a month so I can wait. Sooo much cheaper there plus it's a more common round, now I wonder what else I can add to that shopping list

Hi mate, it's definatley not a stupid question. I wasn't shooting over a bonnet but there were a lot of rabbits and the rifle had around 30 shots through it before hand and it was getting very hot.
I couldn't touch the barrel or suppressor for very long. There was no breeze and I had ammo in the mag but the bolt open between shoots to help cool things.
I remember it getting so hot that I chambered a round , decided not to shoot and extracted it out and noticed the brass colouring on the projectile had dis- coloured !

I know a lot of the guys on here use 2206H, I don't and this is my second 500g tub and I don't think I will use it again. Nothing wrong with it and I can't put my finger on any issue but there is something about the stuff that to my ears sounds a bit different.
I am probably talking shit but I am not super comfortable with the stuff. May go back to BM2 or try something else.

Any possibility there was water or other obstruction in barrel?

No , I remember the previous shot as I watched the rabbit get smacked. Previous case extracted fine. Just feed the next round in lined up the next bundle of fluff and it all turned bad.

My opinion: F-C, R-P, Winchester, Lapua, Norma - least desirable to best.

In 308 though but acquired 100 1x fired F-C brass. Terrible stuff. Large spread in weights. Flash holes punched off centre. Don't know if their premium factory ammo brass is like that.

ADI has a good rep but haven't had anything to do with it personally, nor Prvi which some like.
Mil surp by reports from other users n here and elsewhere seems to clean up good, batched to brand. Need to keep in mind that some of it is not exactly equivalent to 223R - work up loads again.

Depends upon your use. If not too fussed about extreme accuracy and you are in the habit of loosing fired brass out in the sticks Lapua and Norma prices will take the shine off them.

you reload long enough you will get the occasional hiccup like pierced primers, casehead separations etc, its a learning curve . . the first is the most memorable.

i have total faith in my rifles to handle it . . . R

Sounds like you have managed to get some oil on the case .Either coming from the hot action or from handling of the round itself .
It can at times take a little or a lot to make Bolt thrust get up there ,your cases are not as " supported " as you may think ! .
