Belmont used to load 130 grn Lapua hollow point in budget 308 ammo. Had a huge cavity in it. It chrono'd at 3k. It was a good cheap alternative for meat hunting but munched a lot of meat.
We used it in the Douglas on the high Tahr population and it was devastating. Just imagine posting a pic like this nowadays.

Restraint is the better part of dignity. Don't justify getting even. Do not do unto others as they do unto you if it will cause harm.

I used that a fair bit, fantastic accuracy for a factory load and devastating on Fallow and Smaller reds.

I'm told the lads shooting from the air liked it a lot...head/ neck shooting it would give slight margin for error and lighter on recoil.

Pulled remaining seven rounds of .222 that I had mistakenly loaded with .228 70 GRN projectiles. Put my titless sizing button in dies, resized them ,put the 23 grns 748 back in and popped correct diameter.224 70 GRN Speer flying brick on top. Now I should be able to remove round from chamber....and might hit what I'm pointing at....that's my excuse n I'm sticking to it .

Ready for the next fine spell and range visit.
375 H&H and first time trying Cutting Edge Safari Raptors 275 gn. A couple of preliminary ladders with RL15 and Staball 6.5 to see where if puts them velocity and pressure wise. Have read good reports about accuracy potential so we'll see.

...and at the other end of the spectrum, had a little session with my Lee Loader in 303B..bit of mixed HS older brass, annealed, even older Nobel Rifle Powder No. 2, 150gn pulled bullets - 3 HP and the rest SP, all FB. I didn't really need to use the bright shiny neck flaring tool sitting there but wanted to try it out. Essential for cast. And if it's used then a very light crimp to close the flare up again. Used the original load data from the box. Approx 36.5gn on my scales, claimed 37gn by Lee for the included scoop but it was as full as I could get it. Will take these out in my old short barrel girl with a muzzle forward suppressor and homemade front fibre optic sight. See if I can creep up within 50m of a goat.

Their was 5 of them storeys in this thread or another somewhere loaded 162 eldx instead of 150eldx with the 150gn charge weight eyes were peeled on the chrono speed happened to be the same and was hitting the gong even wasn’t until I finished and picked up the brass I realised something was a miss went inside and I’d grabbed the wrong projectile blew the primer on all 5 perfect example of why tight bolt lift is a terrible gauge on pressure as they were fine to open
