Wanted to resurrect this thread again a little with some pics from a recent hunt.

The Crosman 2240 is a very versatile platform for modding, this one has been changed out to .25 cal and had all of the internals tuned up - it now gives 3 times the original power output at 18fpe.

Your welcome to come pick it up and take it away for a week or two, to play with in field. Probly need to put one of your scopes on it. Has open sights.
I've got the space and chrono here for you to sight it in and get fpe. (Though wind never seems to stop at this place) Plenty of differnt pellets to run through it to see what works in it. If it's AA or hades pellets you'll have to buy your own to use when you take it for a play, as 1322 loves them and I haven't restocked yet. ( Though I could prob spare a 100 AA deablo field 16gr)
Anything else you can just take the tin.
Its not going to be doing anything for a bit so might as well get used. It's probly had 50 shots put through it so should be leaded in, not nessarily broken in.
Pm and organise a time. Busy Thursday around lunch time but should be free any other time.

You will need a scope, I put a steel breach on it and has no back sight. Got extend bolt prob too. Which is all I've done with it.

Not being a pcp shooter just read up on your gun. Sounds awsome. That magpie is stunning in colour compared to ours.
What other small game do you take with air rifle over that way?

Youngs Air gun center is a good place to buy PCP, Also if you pm me I know a couple of guys in wellington selling a couple of guns.
I have been looking for one myself but want to buy a rim fire first , and I have been putting feelers out their on a airgun nz site.
Another point is , on trade me there seems to be a couple for sale.

Yes Youngs is great but mikee is in Nelson, PCP's are not cheap, I would want to try something expensive before making any decisions. His site does have a catalog on it which would give you an idea of prices bearing in mind a PCP needs a way of recharging of which vary in price and effort and convenience.

Prob be 50ish all up since started at this possy. Still they come. Though not like use too. Learning. Mynas stopped turning up after the 5th one hit the dust.
Low power, light, cheap (but accurate) short length with cheap gamo scope has actually been the perfect gun for this, supprisingly.
Rifles would be way to over powered and barrel would stick out way to far.

Remember, if you want to shoot a PCP a lot and/or high power, you will need to fill from a dive bottle and have a dive shop or other filling station for the bottle close to you. If you don't shoot a lot and shoot lower power (around 14 fpe or less) , a hamdpump is an option. In the latter case a quality springer is also a good option.
