Yep 22 Hornet, or new 17 Hornet would be good.

Tonight I picked up a Howa 223 with gunworks suppressor from this site. Will pop scope on it, shoot it in shortly, and it will do its work down there. But... looking forward also to another station where they're less spooky, shorter range, and we can use the 22s. Nailing bunnies out to 100 with a precise little 22LR my favourite varmint shooting..

It can get a bit expensive shooting large numbers of them with a .223.

The other week I bought a box of HMR for $50(silly move but is what it is)
Same week a 50 box of .223 for $40…(albeit on special…)

The above is a one off case.

HMR is $37 last couple packets I bought.
The 223 is $50-$55 range.

If you buy right the difference can be negligible…
