Quick and clean. I can see the Dundee family giving that a go if they do not already know about it.

    ... Seriously?
It takes me forever to gut rabbits... He just gives them a squeeze.

I'm going to give it a go. I wonder if the crunch noise is ribs or bone or what. I imagine you have to be pretty forceful. I'm not sure it'd work for big hares.

    Thanks for sharing the vid.

Awesome. I couldn't stop laughing when he was pushing the guts out the ass! Bit of a design flaw! I wonder if canibals do that to humans

He wasn't pulling out the lungs after skinning them so I assume its all coming out.

well he says on big buck rabbits the process can prove difficult so might be best to try on a young rabbit, find that with skinning older animals tend to be harder to skin then young ones. as for lungs and heart they must be still in there as there in a separate cavity and i cant see them when he holds the guts up.

Yeah saw this a while ago and I do it all the time. I still have a bit of a problem when the guts run down the inside of the leg and get stuck. Have to hold the leg right. Helps if you leave them a while and they have a bit of gas in them. only had heart and lungs come out once, i think when a shot ruptured the membrane. Not really a problem when processing them with a cleaver like he is. They don't contaminate the meat.

Haven't tried a hare but possums are more effort than they're worth.

Tried it last night on a young rabbit. Both the popping and skinning worked a treat. So long as I dont fill my red bands with guts any time soon it looks like my new method, it sure was clean.

Bit of gas in them... I tend to shoulder shoot with the HMR so I put a big hole in one side and a small hole in the other. I wonder if that'll be a problem. I don't think the heart/lung membrane will hold up. I might have to start shooting for the head.
