Went to Cam Speedy's talk here in New Plymouth just this week. Most of it I'd heard before but picked up some really good tips.

His point about predators being tuned in to different food sources, he said that at the moment, any that are near duck shooting spots will be tuned into them where they get hold of wounded or non-retrieved ducks. So duck carcasses at the moment near these sorts of areas will make for really good bait.
