    4-16x44 Vortex Viper on my 223 wallaby rig. Have used it for the occasional bunny trip too.

    Zoom range is right about perfect. On hunting trips I will often use the full range, min to max. Larger objective is much nicer if you're likely to be spotlighting or in low light. While spotlighting it tends to sit on 6-8 power, but will shift that up or down, as the terrain dictates.

    Max-12 power class of scope is probably *okay* but I think you'll want a bit more than that, especially when trying to place your shots on a rabbit out to 250.. 14-16x is right about the sweet spot, in my opinion.
