    Thermal rabbit hunter

My new goto night time setup. CZ 452 in 17hm2 calibre. Very flat shooting. DPT .20 calibre over barrel centre fire suppressor. Very quiet except for the supersonic crack. Conotech Night Arrow 350 thermal rifle scope. With its 12 micron 384x288 sensor and 4.8 optic zoom - a perfect match. Dead hold on the 17hm2 from 50m to 110m just drops on the spot. No ballistic calcs required - very very useful night time rig. Almost too simple to use.

Looks cool. Fully understand the match to the cartridge which would work well, but it's the supersonic crack that's the problem for me. I need to be able to shoot in stealth mode with subs, which means holdover judgements.

So for me, I need a rangefinding capability. 100% mandatory requirement.

One day I'll convince myself it's a justifiable purchase!

We made a short video. First two rabbits are at approx 200m and second rabbit is approx 60m. The Landrover Discovery at the end leaves a heat signature as it drives across the field.

I'd normally use a 35mm focal length for this kind of work as it has a larger field of view making scanning quicker. This one is a 50mm/F1.0.`
