About LinkBacksJemm park up at poronui and walk the poled route through poronui station and head for the Oamaru DoC hut it is outside the 1080 buffer zone and there are deer around that area it is a 3:40 walk so you will want to be in there for a few nights to make it worthwhile. As for deer repellent I have no faith in it or trust it. If you can afford it book a flight with helisika and get choppered in to the Oamaru Doc hut
