There was a few of us up there that day under the trees on the front lawn I seem to recall. CH, me, you, jakewire and I have a feeling another one or two as well. It may have been the lead up to the irritator and CH going up the Leith.

I would hardly compare a goat to a roaring southern red stag either.

    It goes
    1 Placement
2 projectile suited to intended IMPACT velocity's and game size.

    562 caliber used.

Really. Suggest you tell him to put an 85gr Barnes up front. He'll have plenty of beeg dead stags in future.

don kiddy used a .222 but mainly a 243 on the reds in whirinaki and urewera. he did it for a living and shot not hundreds, but thousands of deer. he liked the 243. there must be something in that. true there were a few more deer around then, but they were out there doing it consantly, and that bush apart from a couple of areas dont have nice clean open tops, its all bush

He smacked it first and it went down so moved onto the hinds, looked back and heres the stag up and moving so he whacked it again. Down it went for a second time. By the time he got there it was gone.......

Who in their right mind would take a 243 out in the roar? That is unless they only wanted spikers......
Never heard anything so dumb said in my life. Anyone who prefers a 243 would take it out in the roar no question, its more than capable of doing the job. Clearly he didnt hit it right or was using shit ammo. Shoots a stag then wants to go for the hinds with it, deserves to get away. Im sure the stag didnt go far, maybe his tracking skills are crap,

    Its called anthropomorphism.

Its where we give a personality or innate soulish capability to an inanimate product or thing.
