56mm objective - How many of us use them?

I've got a few 56 and 50mm scopes. How many of use or think they need a 56mm..

I love the last light factor but not sure if I do shoot at very last light that I could locate the game with a dog!

Thoughts before I take another plunge?

I have shot two mature sika 20 seconds apart at 944yrds at 9.10pm on the 21st January.

Nightforce 5.5-22-56 NXS 10 Moa per turn turret

Last chance at a shot was at 9.20 pm

Take from that what you will, I did not have a 50mm there to compare with.

more will depend on optic quality not the diameter of the objective lens.

    Really Impressive shooting .
I'm usually thinking as I lug my NSX about wouldn't it be nice if it were smaller and 400g lighter...

Only wished I'd had it with me rather than my Elite 6500 on one hunt so far. Mostly due to the lack of an illuminated reticle.

I agree really good 50mm don't leave much on the table against a 56mm.

But when you have optic quality and a large objective lens you will certainly see he light. I find them too cumbersome for general use though.

Even better in South Westland. You can still see good enough to shoot well after 10pm mid summer.

I use a couple of 56mm NF nxs and shot deer out to 400m away on a full moon. The 56mm has got 2-3 minutes more scope time at twilight than the a 42mm NF nxs. A mate has a swaro 42mm, he's got about 5 minutes more than my NF 42mm. The good glass makes a big difference.

Off topic a bit but my one of the guys I take out a fair bit has one of those Zeiss Diavari 4-24x72 that scope while being stupidly big is bloody impressive at dusk, like 15 more minutes than top swaro gear.
As said glass quality way more important than objective size.
