    Any Drilling Users?

I like a mixed bag of a deer and some big Nevada blue grouse and often hunt with a drilling.

Are they of any use in NZ?

As Long as you only hunt Private land they are legal to hunt with.
Its illegal to take a rimfire or shot gun onto DOC (Public) land because of this they are not very popular nor seen very often

Evening Lads, "A drilling refers to a combination gun that has three barrels." these could be two rifled and one smooth bore or two smooth bore and one rifled. in NZ we would refer to them as combination guns. I have never heard of anyone hunting with one but seen one at a gun shop.

Ha ha used to own a savage 410 22 combo not a drilling but a combo that got a lot of rabbits ducks and goats as a 410 solid has a little authority

Those Savage 24s have put so much meat in the pot here in the US! Farm kids had them and were always potting a rabbit, squirrel, pheasant or other critters.

We quit using the smaller calibers when the gophers learned lethal tactics.

Here is a Sauer drilling in 16ga and 6.5X57R with a 22 Mag right barrel insert that is quick to remove and re-insert, going back to zero at 65 yards. The claw mount scope is sighted in at 200 yards, and the flip up open sight is at 100 meters.

Drilling (two smooth and one rifled barrel) and Bockbücksflinte (or "bock" - one smooth and one rifled) are pretty common here. I am looking for one as I often see geese, ducks, pheasants and deer on my preferred spot.
