    It was farkin cold up by lake tutira just out of Napier today. That southerly with the rain sucked hairy balls!

    I wasn't cold... you should have tried scrambling up a steep and muddy, from pig digging, hill in your gumboots! ;-) Or are you a bit smarter than your son...

    Was up on the main range on Monday. Fair bit of snow around up on Kaweka J in places but overall not too bad. Has rained up there since and a fair bit has gone. Big tarns up on the main range where frozen to the point where you could walk right across them. There was a bit of snow out toward Kiwi Saddle on Monday but I would expect most of that is gone now. Could be alright for a wander

    Kaimanawa tops were covered in areas the other day. Mate flew over pikiawatea. Not quite kawekas but not too far away haha
