Ok, thanks for the reply, Im gonna look for some to try out on my wee range. Im grateful to have learnt something new once again, it never ends. Ive been using 50gr norma sp on deer and pigs without fail so far but bigger is usually bigger. Its great to have options that work. I panic bought a pile of varmint loads a while back when ammo was getting scarce (it still might be?) and have yet to shoot them.

the 40-45grn barnes could well be another option if can find any around. I had hoped the 50grn flat based ones would be ok...but they not recomended for 1;14 twist. they work great in 1;12 in the 223.
funny looking at load data...either Ive been underloading the 223 for years or there is next to no difference between the two cartridges...
