    I have tried a few tents over the years - mainly macpac. Got an MSR tent a few years back, and far and away the best tent used to date. very well thought out and constructed. Gives me great confidence when the weather turns to shite.

    I have got a luxe lightwave. Weighs 1200gm. Was fairly cheap too about 200 i think. Havn't had any problems in the rain yet, plenty of room for me plus gear. Elite outdoors are the NZ suppliers if they have them in stock. Plenty of good reviews on the net

    I suggest also looking into Tarptents. I got the SS2 and am very impressed. 1.2kg's and enough room for two long-wide exped mats.

    Sly - what model MSR did you get?
    Marlin 45-70 - I had a look for "elite outdoors" online and couldn't see much - have you got any more details?
