Sako is far better in every way.
:) :) :) :)
Like chalk and cheese as far as technology goes. If a traditional rotating bolt and a safety catch is your thing you'd probably be very happy staying with a Sako, they're a quality bit of kit. If you want try something different, the straight pull and cocker/de-cocker of the Blaser system can't be beat in my biased opinion...:D The R8 offers some interesting new features, compared to the R93, in that the entire trigger and mag group drops away from the stock. I actually ordered a wood blued Sako 85 but the importer thought my order was a duplicate and didn't place it so I got the hump and ordered a R93. Bloody glad I did.
Never fired a r8 but they look great your pushing a prettg highend argument read up nz guns and hunting they are testing the r8, but a sako finnlight is were its at for my taste
As I have said, I have never seen an R8 up close. I do not understand why you would want the trigger and mag to be detatchable? I also hear that nothing but the saddle mount can be used on a R93?
I will stick with the R93, got too many things aftermarket done to it.
The search for the next forum T-shirt quote is over !!!!! brillo there R93 :)
And I don't have a MD, i don't even have a toy one, my imaginary one is deep metallic green with tints, hoping it would be a chick magnet :)

Yea I also have an imaginary sako 85 finnlight in 7mm rem mag that I drill 14pt stags with:thumbsup:
I hate testfires done by Jo blow from magazines. Everything is awesome, usually.;) As far as blasers go. I like mine better than I did 10 yrs ago. I do not think, an honest and accurate review, can be done by someone without experience hunting or shooting with one. They take a bit of getting used to.
To true dave.there always is bias involved hell you give someone a highend rifle and let them loose and ask them " how was that sako 85"......." they'd have to say fuckn great mate".............. will have to see my reveiw on the r93 bfore I'm fully commited though:pacman:
Ask Proudkiwi he has one, and Im fairly sure he wouldn't swap it for any Sako.
Improved trigger (desmodronic?) and a stronger action to take the bigger African bangers as well as their new line of Blaser chamberings.
Not cheap compared to what? It gets pretty academic after a while.
As R93 said only saddles will swap between the two.
Never listen to 7mmsaum. He even thinks Holdens are any good.:P
Bwahahahahahaha
I'm not sure about the whole drop out trigger either. Seems odd. I thought I had nice, quality rifles until we got a blaser T2..... An R93 is on the list now if I can find a second hand one next year, those actions are incredible.
No worries. I had a crack with an R8, it's no diff to shoot IMO than the 93. I think they were trying to address the top load mag by creating a removable box and then thought to take it a step further and include the trigger as well to provide another type of storage/security option. Seems reasonable but not significant enough to warrant me changing.
Good enough for me. I would still like a play with an R8, Sam should send me his one for a play.:D
i just want to know wot they are like because i liked the look of them, and they seemed like a good solid accurate rifle. i have never seen one, or know anyone who has got one, if fact i dont even know where i would get one from. i like the cocking idear, it is good i think
Stager sports in central Otago.

Blaser R93 Attache . $$$$$$$$ looks like serious money there $$$$$$$$. Anyone got an idea how much ???
I don't like the way the trigger drops out of the R8 with the mag. I'd prefer a traditional detach mag setup.
I am rated for that machine T therefore can fly it. I am not for the 600.
The specs are awesome. I can't see how they would be shit? I like the 520.
The 600 is gruntier. I still wanna steer one.
Has Roso still got one? I wonder what the hrly rate is?
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk. So please forgive my sausage fingers!!!
I would love to have a play with a Blaser, I think the straight pull action looks brilliant.
maybe we need a helicopter thread
had a play with a r8 at the sika show, felt a tad shorter than the 93 due to the magazine placement, good rifles.
Ill say ,whats the connection between choppers and R8's?. chopper lovers dont need any prompting to bust into helicopter fapping mate!.you could start a thread on dogs toe nails and shore enough theyll soon be wanking on about dogs in choppers!!!!!!:D.I watched that r8 vid i wiuld have liked to of seen the harvest shot TBO.What sako are you currently shooting at the mo anyway SK????? just out of intrest.I can see the appel of the straight pull bolt thats what fasinates me personaly.
