Hope they get a good turn out.
This will be so cool! Imagine the impact of 500 vehicles travelling at 30kph. Imagine the TV coverage. I'll be there, hope all my mates are too
I’ll be there with the family. Good way to spend the last day of school holidays.
Am in NI but thoughts are with you.
Oh yeah, can you imagine the TV coverage, it will go down like a plate load of vomit. The socialists will be festering at the bung hole, how dare red-neck hunters and gun nuts complain that we (the socialists), are taking their life style away from them. They will be outraged.
As for govt, they wont give a shit - as usual. They will ignore the public because it doesnt fit their ideology.
You watch the cops, they will be calling in extra cops from Dunners, Southland, Canterbury, they will make every vehicle funnel through a check point and try and be as big as inconvenience as possible in retaliation for the people pretesting against the govt. I hope Im wrong.
And I want to be there - but Im booked into upgrading a businesses networking that weekend :(
Good luck who ever goes, lots of pictures please.
I didn't know you could drive that fast on the AKL motorway at morning peak. Everytime I have hit that rush it would be 5km at best.....besides, with the thousands of cars already there no one will notice a few more on a motorway.
But all the best to them down there.
I will be there, great idea lets hope for a good turn out.
why don,t we have the same in the north island
good idea 57jl. a long slow crawl past the beehive would sure get some media coverage. Obviously i can,t be there as in lock down in west oz, but i wish you all good luck and a good outcome to this blatant disregard for the people of NZ and their culture.
Might have to give this one a nudge.
@Woody, we could hold one from the Chateau up the mountain, would be a NI turn out.
Yes thar would be an idea
@tetawa. Something aong those lines would be good but I think we need to target the politicians rathet than piss off ski bunnies. Perhaps a really really slow convoy both north and south simultaneously both ways on the narrow road between turangi and taupo? We wouldnt actually be "blocking the road" but with signs etc and media tv / fb / youtube involved we could perhaps make a point.?
Bloody great , I would go if I was down there , appreciate all the people that will put in the effort and turn up to this
Am just musing; but there must be something effective while legal that we in NI could do. School hols though. Taupo is a bloody madhouse with traffic today. Perhaps a line of us all along SH1 somewhere with signs? Maybe near Napier Taupo roundabout or somesuch?
There are plenty of people in NZ that dont know what a Tahr is or that we have them wild in the Sth Island. One was a mid 60's woman, a friend of the wifes and an animal lover. She has been educated!
We'll be there, might have a spare seat travelling from Ashburton/Methven if anyone needs a pew.
It's like a horrible virus thats emanted from a bloody great concrete cave in wellywood. Virulent.
All power to you guys.
Great way to get the message out there, we need a lot of the people who aren't hunters but are against this indiscriminate slaughter of an endangered ( overseas ) species by brainless twits we call our government.
i hope someone has thought to invite a mp or two down, maybe David Seymour i see he has a spokesperson for the council of licenced firearm owners on the team so maybe his support of the game animal council and all of us passionate hunters could be too our advantage.
Can anyone update on how it went etc ?
Is next Sunday, 19th
Thanks to all that are going today. Hope its a good turn out.
Good luck with the turn out fellahs. I am interested to hear how it went.
All the best....hope you get an awesome turn out
Any updates on numbers that turned up? seen a couple of clips it looks pretty cold down there with ice on some roads
