I’ve recently been given an old pair of meindl boots. They’re about 15 years old but have been basically never worn. They’ve been stored well but the rand looks a little dry otherwise in bloody good nick and fit really nicely.
Anyone got any tips on bringing an old pair of boots back to life.
I’m guessing rubber that old is just going to perish but was wondering if there is anything I can do?

dont know about the rubber but I use a german saddle oil called effax damn good stuff comes in black or brown leave boots out in sun once given a good covering

Just wear them. Chances are the mid sole will disintegrate fairly quickly anyway.

Meindl have an authorized repairer in Ashburton. I used him to completely replace the sole and Rand. Like new boots. Can’t remember the cost. I will check who it is. I have it some where.Quote:

My experience with meindl's is that if they are not used often, the soles do seperate. At least mine did.
