Had some feedback since this arvo. They have not applied to use deer repellent as yet.
    This is normal apparently.

Public pressure between now and then will likely require them to use it.
    Hoping this gets sorted.

Interesting to see how possums & tb don't get a mention these days but global warming & rats do.
Id like to no how they get there figers or biases as to what areas get droped & others don't for example if I took 100 rat traps into a block whats an excitable number of rats to catch ?

Lets drop 100's of 1000's of tonnes of poison through national parks. How can DOC and our government be so daft to think this is a clever idea.

There is attention from NZDA and hunting guides association at the moment. When I find out what we can do as a forum or individuals I will post it up.

I am surprised @kiwijames hasn't been along to tell us all how it is the best tool at our disposal and if it kills a few deer too bad.

The range of what we think and do is limited by what we fail to notice. And because we fail to notice that we fail to notice, there is little we can do to change; until we notice how failing to notice shapes our thoughts and deeds

We should all get together and create a COUNCIL. We could call it the GAME ANIMAL COUNCIL. We could have them create HERDS OF SPECIAL INTEREST so special areas like this are considered by DOC/AHB when making plans around public land.

I have been saying for years that we need a "Fuckmedead" smilie. This would be one of the times I would use it.
stingray, Carpe Diem and Tommy like this.
It takes 43 muscle's to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger pull.
What more do we need? If we are above ground and breathing the rest is up to us!
Rule 1: Treat every firearm as loaded
Rule 2: Always point firearms in a safe direction
Rule 3: Load a firearm only when ready to fire
Rule 4: Identify your target beyond all doubt
Rule 5: Check your firing zone
Rule 6: Store firearms and ammunition safely
Rule 7: Avoid alcohol and drugs when handling firearms

    Well said and pointed out.

What a joke the idea of a GAC was.😆

Was always going to fail imo.

It was a step in the right direction. It took a fairly large amount of time and effort to get it going which shows there is some people willing to try make a change. Unfortunately for them the good old kiwi hunter wants everything done for him for free. GAC, NZDA and any future similar groups can't do anything without $$$ and it can only come from us.

It was sold as being tax payer funded with United Future backing it to Parliament.
It fell off the radar never to return.
NZDA failed to follow it through as well. I will continue to be a NZDA member but only in the hope that one day NATEX will get over itself and do something, rather than talk and issue statements.

    The concept was wrong imo.
It was supposed to have reps from almost every outdoor activity on its board. Pointless imo.

It also did not intend represent regions correctly.
I also thought they were after more control on things than they would be qualified to handle.

I have primarily hunted the west coast my whole hunting life. Having where I hunt administered by a group that does not have the knowledge or vested interest in my area would be stupid.
Bad enough with the government we have now.
