Poison notice in paper tonight for most of Pureora Rangitoto ranges.

1080 does not occur naturally in plants. 1080 is sodium mono fluoroacetate. and has little taste but additives such as cinnamon are mixed to hide the taste.

The similar compound occurring in plants is potassium fluoroacetate and has a bitter taste which is a natural deterrent to browsing animals. It is too bitter to be used as a deliberate poison as the bitter taste cannot be concealed.

And no, I definitely do not work for the poisoners.

    Hope this is of help.
Don't think Rangitoto Ranges are getting it, DOC said nothing north of HW30.

If I was to try out a new deer repellent it would have to be gun oil. They always seem to know when I am armed

I heard that it was snake oil to calm down the deer hunters and was as useless as alcohol free beer.

I'll post some photos of the fish if you need to feel some warmth.
I'm out here on work installing a bathroom.
The owner kindly let me have a day off to go fishing. Had a ball with 50 odd caught of all sorts from shark to trigger fish.
Back in the uk today bit cold here in comparison
