I used to be a member there but left as they offered nothing in the form of hunter education all you heard about was bloody target shooting at each meeting and any deer hunting that was mentioned it was to do with the pines, the forestry company did say to NZDA they did not give a shit about the stand down periods for permits anymore but NZDA decided to keep it enforced, the deal breaker for me was one guy joined and got a permit with no stand down because he knew the president of the tok NZDA I left after that bit of favoritism. In saying that I have access to a farm I used to manage right next to the pines that I have taken a few pigs that have come through onto the farm and he bought extra land that had been logged out to extend it, I really should give the guy a ring to see how things are going.
