The kick isn't too bad un-suppressed. I wouldn't like to do a big target session with the suppressor off. I love mine. Bang flop, nuff said

What’s wrong with the mag? I’ve got a 40 year old rifle with a plastic rotary mag (centrefire), and it sfine. In fact it feeds so smooth I have to check it’s picked up a round if I’ve been using lesser rifles like my sako..

And of course the op needs a 300 win mag. Just don’t buy a tikka, it only encourages them to import more of the bloody things...

Theres nothing wrong with rotary mags, its just the straight plastic paddles looked a bit budget, guess having a savage 99 spoilt me.

Nah, u should not believe everything you’re told.

Why do you want a magnum?
Light weight 300win mag is not easy to shoot accurately (that’s why so many come up for sale cheap ) and you need to have good tolerance for recoil. First requirement for long range rig is accuracy, if rifle/shooter can’t deliver that then you’re wasting your time and money.

I would split the difference and get a 7mm Weatherby much better case design from a reloading stand point, The 300 WM needs a long action like the Rem 700 to seat the bullets out
    further.

Do you need a 300 win mag?. No. You won't be found dead of a broken heart tomorrow 'cause you didn't get one .

No. Do not buy it. If you have a .270win use it for everything. If you don't have a .270win, buy one and use it for everything.

I've scaled down the number of rifles I own as I prefer to have one or two I'm familiar and proficient with than a bunch I shoot on a infrequent basis. A lot more satisfying...

Of course you need a .300 Win Mag.
But, well, if its got a suppressor on it, then it will have a shorter barrel than a .300 Win Mag needs, which means you are just buying a .30/06. I'm sorry but somebody had to say it. Your paying a lot of money for something my .30/06 can do.

just sold my 270 , she was a good rifle but i spend most of my time in the bush so i got a cut down 7mm08(16.5 inch), goes real good on fellow but
i am concerned that it may not do the business at distance on a red.
i also have my vx3 that used to sit on my 270 on my 10/22 and its a waste of a good scope
my mate has a howa 300 and with a suppressor it kicked less then my old 270.
and i want to explode some goats
