I tried explaining to the stay at home mums on the Herald page, the benefits bought to Africa by rich hunters, who will harvest game legally while lining the pockets of the locals, and how culling certain animals can be beneficial overall to the herd. Predictably, I was met with the usual media indoctrinated canned outrage. I am all for a rational, evidence based discussion, but sometimes, especially when the neigh sayers have the IQ of a house cat, it is best just to do what you want and tell people to get fucked.
