    Fallow stag and Angus bull

Just trying to help a couple of mates out. One runs a deer farm and has a fallow buck we are thinking around 200 to 230 Douglas score that he wants removed. It's in a 40 odd acre fenced bush paddock.
He wants to sell it as a trophy stag- it may not be that easy to stalk and shoot.
He wants $1200 for it and will guide whoever takes up the offer and probably can arrange to stay the night. There is also a chiller to hang it in.

The next is a back country farmer down in the Naki that has around 6 mixed age Angus bulls that need to be shot. The farmer will help remove as much meat as possible on his side by side.
He has tried to muster them but they give the dogs too much of a hard time.
He wants $500 for each and you can also shoot a fallow hind as a sweetener.

PM me if anyone is keen, I know this is not everyone's cup of tea but I'm just trying to help a couple of guys out.

I can tell you right up that hunting a Fallow in 40 acres can be a challenge (and $1200 is an ok deal for a good buck).

I say this (about the challenge) 'cos I have experience of finding a single deer in a patch of bush.
I shot a deer with a Paxarm when I was collecting live animals and it bolted and must have laid on the dart or whatever and the transmitter never kicked in. I went out the next morning and picked up the beep so I thought I would at least shoot it. The little scrub block it was in was a bout 80 acres. Well, I tracked it on the beeper for a couple of hours and it was always parallel to me and on a different ridge or gully. In the end I thought I was hot and onto it. Cocked my gun and sneaked in...and there was the dart laying in a clearing with a bit of meat on the barb. Deer are bloody smart!

If you want a good Fallow, go for it. No shame.

The Bull and fallow $500 deal sounds like a good day out.

You are bang on there Tahr, it will be a challenge I'm trying to get a photo of it from the mate. The paddock has bush each end, we had to cull a few hinds out for him and it wasn't easy.
He shot a big guy last year that went just over 200 and this one is ment to be more even and bigger I haven't seen it but The farm owner is a bow hunter and knows a good stag and he's said it pretty good.

Yeah it sounds a bit like that but you pay for an angry bull and get a free fallow.

The farmer has estimated the bigger bulls to be around 600 to 700 kg so alot of meat for $500 and a fallow hind as well.
A couple of guys are booked in already so not many left.

In that case anyone thinking of grabbing one would be well advised to buy that 416 Rigby, your 7/08 isn't going to cut it and with angry scrub bulls there's no such thing as too much gun.
