Joff Thompsons books are good reading,Tough buggers.
Real guns start with the number 3 or bigger and make two holes, one in and one out
In Search Of The Wild Red Deer- Charlie Shuttleworth. These guys are my idols, my great grandad was hunting in the whitcombe area in the same time and got some good heads. I've see most of the country up there, love the place.
madjon right those guys were tough dudes, no choppers, polarfleece, cookers, flash packs, sat phones, range finders, dia up scopes, or any scopes for that matter. just a few more deer and less people.
Not really hunting but a good read Cops, Crocs & Leopard-Skin Jocks by Bob Magor.
Aussie, Darwin, Crocs, Fish Poaching and Toyotas....
I thought there was a thread on good books to read but couldn't find it so this will do.![]()

That Lynn Harris book is a good one .
I got mine way back when I was in high school. It was printed in 1974 and thats about when I got my copy.
I would add most Phillip Holden books to the list as well
too old to die young
I really enjoyed Wayne Blakes books, they came out when i was a teen possum trapping and did a lot to inspire me.
And Death in the long grass, man those were some exciting stories.
Far and away my favourite hunting book is this one, I found a copy in a 2nd hand book shop the same week I got my FAL and a Norinco JW15.
My copy is pretty tattered from the amount of times ive thumbed through it, I still really love .22lr hunting
