I see there's no stories from the Wapiti ballot yet. Anyone go in?

We were in the stillwater 3rd period. Not much to report really. Got bitten by a few sandflies...

Haha, yea those sand fly's down there are something special, their sucker seems to also be their landing gear. Never been to Fiordland my self, but have sent some time in South Westland. Still, it would take more than sand flies to keep me away.

We went into loch burn 1st period. No waps, pretty quiet the whole time.

I have heard of a few people that didn't do so well this year, animal wise. And the odd person who shot something good. I guess some blocks are better than others, but I'm sure hunting Fiordland in it self is quite an experience. And if you don't shoot anything, you've always got a reason to go back

I wouldn't say quiet the whole time, those dehy's were doing something pretty special to you.

Here's a couple of pics from our trip. Good mission, bad sandflies.
