What’s even better is, he is off work injured and yet is able to go out hunting. Go figure

I don't see how Stuff can post a story like that based on someone's Facebook post? There is no evidence provided other than that person's word that the officer was hunting. People are turning on each other. Maybe the same people complaining about democracy in our country at the moment....

I shouted 'WHAT!' at my screen when I read that too. maybe it was just a mental injury from not having a safe space to retreat to after being called to the scene of a crime that upset him.

I generally have a lot of respect for the police here but I am starting to wonder...

The ODTA article states the cop was seen loading a deer on to his vehicle and he has since been spoken to by his superiors. If it hadn’t happened I’m sure the boss cop would have refuted the allegation.

I posted about this in another thread. Put the pitchforks away guys. The media has printed genuine lies regarding the incident.
However I see no one is questioning the medias trolling of social media for stories and how they can pass it off as truth and get away with it.

Seen by who? An unnamed West Coast resident. How do any of us know that unnamed person is a reliable source of information without providing actual evidence? We don't. That could be anyone with a grudge against police. It's a small town, not hard to know who's plates those are. I could ring up Stuff and tell them anything I want if I had your number plates.

Do you see my point? This is witch hunting. It may or may not be true but that's a bullshit article with a motive...

Agree with the general sentiment of the thread but the bit making light of mental trauma/PTSD etc isn’t cool. There’s plenty of health professionals/military/emergency services etc who suffer from these unseen injuries as a result of their jobs. Wouldn’t wish that on anyone.

Wasn't it only in the last few days it was deemed unlawful or not allowed.
Hunting was allowed for a period of time, which in think this date falls under

Once again too many accept what they read in the general media as ‘gospel’.

The same media that get their ‘facts’ from Facebook and other icons of factual information.

I think the police position was that it wasn't to be done, but after it was pointed out that this was unenforceable, they gave it actual teeth
