IF TRUE, and while I don't doubt that the imported British police would be keen to see this rubbish installed here, this is yet another solution to a problem that doesn't exist. I guess having a select committee system that worked would be part of the answer, but with what we currently have I don't know. It seems not creating a problem is no longer sufficient.
Yes, I think you have summed it up. Imported cops who weasel into management with the intention of changing things here to mirror their home country. When 338 Lapua became available the IRA etc used them to shoot border guards from 3 - 400 mtrs as the lapua would penetrate ceramic body armor. - According to mate who was stationed there. So naturally the UK cops have concerns about this class of rifle

I thought the IRA were 1) pretty much ceasefired now, and 2) in FUCKING IRELAND!!

As far as I am aware, the 338 wielding IRA are not currently, or in the foreseeable future, operating in NZ. Problem avoided.

I suppose we should be concerned about folks that have diesel, superphosphate and aluminium sawdust as well - I mean, there was some pretty nasty stuff done with that in N Ireland, Afghanistan, Chechnya, Iraq....

The real answer is for people in a country to not feel like this sort of BS is an answer to what troubles them.
Bol Tackshin and dannyb like this.
