Cheers

That'll just be for the animal.
Then there's the guide fee
Then there'll be a hut fee
then there will be a minimum X number of people required to run the hunt. That's usually what you'll find
I understand that there are places up South Head that do this sort of thing. It would be Fallow deer. @AndrewH did one up there but that was well over a decade ago and may remember the details.
It takes 43 muscle's to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger pull.
What more do we need? If we are above ground and breathing the rest is up to us!
Rule 1: Treat every firearm as loaded
Rule 2: Always point firearms in a safe direction
Rule 3: Load a firearm only when ready to fire
Rule 4: Identify your target beyond all doubt
Rule 5: Check your firing zone
Rule 6: Store firearms and ammunition safely
Rule 7: Avoid alcohol and drugs when handling firearms
so lets say 35kg of meat harvested if you take the time to butcher it out proper about $10 per kg ........ what would you pay in the supermarket?
I'm sure beefs more than that .
if your inclined to pay for an animal in proximity to Auckland maybe $300-350 not to bad ?
$300 for a 140kg 2-3 year old red stag would be good but this will be $300 likely for a fallow so fallow doe recover 15 kg of meat nah
Are you paying 300 for a red stag?!?
Ye they aren't the biggest fallow for 300-350 around here best i got out of one was 17kg of meat, so a couple of worked out if we go out of auckland pay cheaper prices and split the gas by time we get 2-3 each it works out way better
Check this guy out.
I was talking to him a couple of months ago and it sounds like he is catering for the type of hunt you are after.
Overkill is still dead.
And less far to drive than Taupo or further south
ok I don't mind being corrected on the boned out weight of a fallow doe (I'm assuming we are talking about a doe )its been 15 odd years since I have butchered a fallow doe and I don't remember the harvested weight.
so I checked paknsaves website $23kg for grass fed red mince (personally I think fallow is nicer .....and sika for something gamier) anyhow 15kg at $23 per kg is about $345 ...
I stand by what I said in that the $300-350 is not too bad if you buying a meat animal close to Auckland buy the time you think of travel to hunting area and you wont just get mince.
personally I would rather go to DOC land and come home empty handed than buy a meat animal but that's me , my circumstances are different ......although I am headed to woodhill this year and that could almost fall into the "buying a meat animal" category
