Hunting area with hut to take a 6 year old.

Hey guys, my wee man is getting to the age where some overnight trips into huts would be a great experience. Not after anyone's spot X (unless you want to share) but just wondering where people may have been that's a suitable walk for a 6yo with hopefully some animals to keep him excited too. I've tried to find info on Spurs Hut but can't find a lot.
    Any ideas or tips welcomed.
    Cheers guys

Hut half an hour off the road just a bit further down towards mt cook. Nice easy cruise and then a strollup river for some glassing. P m me if you want to more details.

Probably closer to an hour walk for a 6 year old @SmokeyJason. I remember jogging out of there to keep up with you walking.
