Thread: Hunting Pureroa Forest

We had a good walk yesterday, fairly warm but plenty of sign especially down in the gullies and above about 700m. Managed to get the 16yo within 15m of a deer but it departed before he got the rifle loaded. Kicking myself a bit because I told him to take the scope cover off and sneak in on the spot, and nearly but didn’t tell him to drop a round into the singleshot, by the time he got a round out of his pocket it was too late.
