Can anybody identify these hunters hunting illegally in the sounds area with what looks to be a thermal or nv?

only if the camera used infra red illumination. some of the new cameras work do far into the low light that they dont need a projected light.
i have to say though that "blondie" definitely looks female and that night site and rifle doesnt mean they are opportunists, thats a good deal of money so its not a one off crime

The owners gut feeling is they might have been holidaying in the area from further afield as if they were locals someone would have known them.

It takes 43 muscle's to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger pull.
