Question Kaimai slips this time of year?

    Kia ora team,

Back in July I managed to get my first public land deer in the Ureweras on a slip and was pretty stoked with that. I went back there this week and only came across sign that looked maybe a week old, definitely more than last time, but nothing fresh.

I am heading into the Kaimais next week and was wondering if slips are still worth checking out at this time of year or if I should be putting my effort somewhere else.

One thing that confused me a bit was how it felt quite dry on the way in when I was walking, but once I sat down near the slip the bush around me was still chilly and damp. Not sure what that means for where the animals might be hanging out.

Keen to hear what others have been seeing.

    Cheers
