That Fella looks like he might have got a bit carried away in that wallow. One way of filling in the pot holes I suppose.

In the last 12 months I have found at least 6 reds that have died unfortunate accidential deaths other than meeting a piece of lead, tough country to survive in.

Probably died of old age or boredom waiting for the hunters to venture away from the tracks.
Which is worse, ignorance or apathy...I don't know and don't care.

Must be the deer equivalent of us going to the pub and getting amongst the mud wrestling. It aint ever going to end well.

If you are going in from Whakamarama head in for ABOUT AN HOUR THEN START TO LOOK AROUND.

Don't agree with that nelpop shot a hind at the top of the steps only about 400M back to the truck I've also chased a boar one night coming out from the "blade" All I can say is that kaimai deer are where you find them

Hit thompsons track yestyrday..from manawaru side..walked up to where the track is blocked off..saw a single clean deer print. Turned back around and took the other track that forts off to the right towards the young pine, sat down for a bite and a glass round and saw 2 hinds run out of view...my bloody hiking boots fell to peices and I had a long sore walk out
