    More hunters are killed by other hunters than by deer attack
    This article is saying we should not be out there during the roar
    All the encounters I’ve had with stags have seen them run to escape including 1 that was 1m off the end of the barrel when we both peered around the tree at the same time. He gained 6m before dropping

    I think you need to read the article again.
    It says the deer involved being domesticated made it much more dangerous and feral deer will generally run away, and says about keeping away from domesticated deer at this time of year - nothing about not hunting during the roar. Unless by “out there” you mean in the deer paddock.
